How We Engage
Three carefully considered
ways to work together.
Each of our engagement formats has been shaped by what senior leaders in Malaysia have actually needed — not by what consulting firms typically find convenient to sell.
Our Methodology
How every engagement begins
Exploratory conversation
Before any engagement is proposed, we hold an informal conversation about the situation. This helps both sides understand whether we are a good fit for the question at hand.
Scope definition
We prepare a brief scope document that describes the question being addressed, the form of the output, the timeline, and the fee. Both parties agree before work begins.
Engagement and interim check-ins
Work proceeds with regular check-ins to confirm direction. We do not disappear for weeks and then present a completed document. Questions and adjustments happen throughout.
Delivery and briefing
The final output is delivered in writing. A briefing session follows where we walk through the material, answer questions, and discuss implications.
Quality Standards
- Non-disclosure agreement as standard
- All deliverables reviewed by a partner before submission
- Feedback invited after every engagement
- Conflict of interest disclosed proactively
Leadership Advisory
Trusted counsel to senior executives navigating decisions that benefit from structured reflection. This engagement provides a thinking partner for the questions that are too sensitive for internal discussion and too nuanced for a standard consulting brief.
The work is delivered through scheduled conversations — typically fortnightly or monthly — accompanied by written briefs that summarize what was discussed and what options were considered. The advisor listens carefully before offering any view, and offers that view with appropriate caution rather than false confidence.
- Structured conversation cadence, agreed at outset
- Written brief after each session
- Option to access advisor between scheduled sessions
- Renewable in three-month blocks
- Suitable for CEOs, board members, and senior divisional heads
Organizational Design Review
A careful review of organizational structure, roles, and the interfaces between them — delivered as a written assessment with observations and options for the leadership team's consideration.
The work is conducted over four to eight weeks, typically involving structured interviews with selected individuals, review of available organizational documentation, and interim discussions to confirm that the analysis is tracking with what the leadership team actually needs to understand.
- Structured interviews across the relevant part of the organization
- Interim findings shared before final report
- Written assessment with clear options presented
- Briefing session with the leadership team on completion
- Suitable for restructuring, post-merger integration, or succession planning
Practice Area Advisory Papers
Commissioned advisory papers on specific topics the client wishes to explore in depth. The question is defined collaboratively, then researched, drafted, and delivered with a dedicated briefing session for discussion.
This format is particularly well-suited to questions that benefit from a considered written treatment — a governance matter, a market entry question, a succession scenario, a regulatory response — rather than a workshop format where conversation often substitutes for clear thinking.
- Collaborative question definition at outset
- Research-based written paper, typically 15–30 pages
- Delivered within three to five weeks of brief sign-off
- Includes a two-hour briefing and discussion session
- Client owns all intellectual property on delivery

Across All Engagements
Standards that apply to all our work
Privacy & data protection
We comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Client data is handled with care and never shared with third parties.
Clear engagement terms
Every engagement is governed by a written agreement that specifies scope, deliverables, timeline, fee, and confidentiality obligations.
Responsive communication
We respond to all client communications within one working day. You have direct access to the advisor conducting your work.
No conflict of interest
We disclose any material connection to matters relevant to your engagement. We decline work where a genuine conflict cannot be resolved.
Professional standards
Our advisors are members of the Malaysian Institute of Management and adhere to its professional code of conduct.
Post-engagement availability
Clients can contact their advisor after an engagement concludes with brief questions related to the work. This is part of our commitment to the relationship, not a billable add-on.
Not sure which engagement is right?
Many clients come to us with a general sense that they need outside perspective, but without a clear sense of what form that should take. An initial conversation helps clarify this, at no cost and no commitment.
